Raisa Galofre is a Colombian-Caribbean artist, mother, photographer, cultural worker and researcher working between Berlin, Germany and Barranquilla, Colombia. Her artistic work is informed by the hybrid and creole character of magic-realistic storytelling, the caribbean thinking/feeling/sensing and the carnivals.  She explores their narrative, aesthetic, sonic and performative characterisics as a means to reveal, question and counter-narrate western narratives and constructs.
Her photography embraces the clash, mixture and encounter of the opposites: real and fantastic, rational and mythical elements, which she translates into staged photographs and photographic sculptures.
